Rourke responded in a video shared on Instagram. Sitting with his dog, Lucky, he said he had no idea who created the page and never gave permission for it. He said the situation left him confused and frustrated.
The actor told fans he would never ask for money from strangers or supporters. He said accepting charity is not his way and urged anyone who donated to request a refund.
The Hollywood Reporter quoted Jones as saying Rourke is going through a difficult time and that the support from fans has been meaningful.
Rourke admitted he made poor career decisions in the past and did not manage things well. He said therapy helped him change and that he is no longer the wild person people remember.
