BAFTA nominations for 2026 are now available.The list of nominees for this year includes big names like Leonardo DiCaprio and Emma Stone.
The Nominations for One Battle after Another
It stars Leonardo DiCaprio in a role as a retired revolutionary. This film loosely is based upon Thomas Pynchon’s Vineland. DiCaprio is Bob Ferguson, an ex-radical who lives off the grid in California. Chase Infiniti is a BAFTA-nominated actor who plays Willa. He sets out on a desperate quest to locate his daughter.
The Top Ten Contenders
With 13 nominations, Period vampire horror Sinners is the second most nominated film. Michael B. Jordan is recognized as the Best Actor, and Ryan Coogler for Best Director.
Hamnet is the Shakespeare-inspired play that has 11 nominations. Chloe Zhao becomes the first female BAFTA director to receive this many nominations. Jessie Buckley is nominated for Best Actress. She plays Shakespeare’s spouse Agnes. This continues his award season momentum.
In the Best Film category, the Norwegian drama Sentimental Value is the final nominee. It tells the tale of a man reconnecting with daughters.
British Talent in the Spotlight
This year, several British actors and films are honored. Hamnet , Wallis Island and I swear are among the nominees.
Robert Aramayo who plays John Davidson, a Tourette’s sufferer in I Swear is the sole UK nominee for Best Actor. Peter Mullan, his co-star in the film I Swear, is the only UK nominee for best supporting actor. Aramayo also has a nomination for Rising Star.

Cynthia Erivo of Wicked: For Good missed out on the major award, but received nods in costume and makeup.
Jane Millichip, BAFTA’s chief executive officer praised the diversity of stories. She noted that films covered everything from personal human stories to activism. Emily Stillman is the chairwoman of BAFTA’s film committee.
The Ceremony Details
BAFTA 2026 will take place on Sunday 22nd February at the Royal Festival Hall. Alan Cumming, actor and US Traitors presenter will be presenting the awards.
