About 250 kilometers east-southeast of Karachi, in the northeastern Arabian Sea, there is a building cyclone that has prompted the Meteorological Department to issue an urgent alert.
With favorable climatic circumstances, the system, which is now categorized as a deep depression, is slowly moving towards the west-southwest and has the potential to intensify into a cyclone.
The scenario was explained by Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, who said that although the deep depression is moving slowly, it is predicted to intensify until it touches the sea.
“The system’s intensity will increase as it encounters favorable sea conditions, and it is likely to become a cyclone by tomorrow morning,” said Sardar Sarfraz.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has designated the storm Cyclone Asna, and it is expected to deliver strong gusts and heavy rainfall to many regions in Sindh and Balochistan.
