Male visitors were prohibited from visiting the opulent Ladies Lounge at the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona) in Hobart, an attempt to draw attention to historical misogyny.
When a harmed customer successfully sued the gallery for gender discrimination in May, it was forced to close.
However, on Friday, Justice Shane Marshall of the Tasmanian Supreme Court ruled that men might be barred from the Ladies Lounge due to the legality of discrimination that supports “equal opportunity” for a marginalized group.
The exhibit’s artist, Kirsha Kaechele, referred to the decision as a “big win”.
The decision to end the patriarchy was made in under thirty seconds, the speaker stated in a statement.
The decision rendered today confirms a basic reality: women are superior to males.
Mona is known for her provocative style, and the Ladies Lounge, which debuted in 2020 and contained some of the most well-known pieces in the museum, lives up to this reputation with its luxury and pageantry.
