Newly released emails from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein suggest that Prince Andrew, Duke of York, was indeed photographed with Virginia Giuffre. In a July 2011 email to his publicist Peggy Siegal, Epstein stated: “Yes she [Giuffre] was on my plane and yes she had her picture taken with Andrew.”
This directly challenges Prince Andrew’s repeated claims that he never met Giuffre and that the infamous photograph showing him with his arm around her might have been altered.
Virginia Giuffre, a prominent accuser of Epstein, previously alleged that Andrew had sexual encounters with her when she was a teenager. While Andrew has denied these allegations, he reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre in 2022, which included no admission of guilt or apology.
The emails, part of a collection exceeding 20,000 pages from Epstein’s estate, reveal ongoing contact between Andrew and Epstein even after the Duke publicly claimed their association had ended. One email shows Andrew responding to allegations forwarded by Ghislaine Maxwell, insisting that every statement should clarify he was “NOT involved” and knew nothing of the claims.
The Mail on Sunday published the photograph alongside these allegations, which included claims that girls were directed to sit on Andrew’s lap at Epstein’s New York residence, and that sexual activities occurred on Epstein’s private island. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking.
This latest revelation intensifies scrutiny on Prince Andrew and his connections with Epstein, keeping the controversy alive even years after the settlement.
