According to a recent study, children who are exposed to their parents’ cigarette smoke may unintentionally cause lung harm to their own children and grandkids, raising the likelihood of developing chronic respiratory conditions.

The study, which was published in the medical journal Thorax, emphasizes the harm that passive smoking does to generations and exhorts dads in particular to abstain from smoking in front of their kids.

According to a study by researchers at the University of Melbourne, childhood exposure to cigarette smoke can affect lung function in subsequent generations in addition to posing immediate health hazards.

It has been demonstrated that smokers’ children and grandkids are more likely to suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which already claims the lives of almost 3 million people annually worldwide.
