Utility Stores issues official circular for termination of all employees from September 1

Permanent employees with service up to 20 years will receive 3 current basic salaries for each completed year

In a formal circular, the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) administration announced that all staff would be let go, with effect from September 1, 2025. 11,406 of the company’s employees will get a government-approved financial package as a result of the decision.

Permanent staff with two years or less of service will be paid in full for the remaining months, the official statement said. For each completed year, those with over 20 years of service will receive two current basic salaries. For each completed year, permanent employees with up to 20 years of service will earn three current basic salaries, or 1.25 of the current basic salary for the months that remain.

Permanent, contract, and daily wage workers will receive a total of Rs19.504 billion.
