YouTube Has Deleted 700 Videos Exposing Israeli War in Gaza

YouTube has removed more than 700 videos from Palestinian human rights groups documenting Israeli atrocities in Gaza, citing U.S. sanctions laws.

YouTube has taken down more than 700 videos that documented Israeli war crimes and human rights abuses in Gaza, sparking outrage among rights groups and activists. According to The Intercept, the deleted videos belonged to three leading Palestinian human rights organisations — Al-Haq, Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights.

These videos captured evidence of Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza — from grieving mothers mourning their children to the killing of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and scenes of large-scale destruction across the enclave.

The removals reportedly followed a U.S.-led campaign aimed at shielding Israeli officials from international accountability for war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank. This comes despite the International Criminal Court (ICC) issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for crimes against humanity in October.

A YouTube spokesperson confirmed the account suspensions, saying the company was “committed to complying with sanctions and trade laws.” However, critics argue that the move supports Washington’s political agenda by silencing Palestinian voices and erasing evidence of Israeli atrocities.

Katherine Gallagher, senior attorney at the Centre for Constitutional Rights, accused YouTube of helping to conceal war crimes by removing documentation that could hold Israel accountable. A representative from Al-Haq said their channel was deleted without warning — a direct violation of YouTube’s own transparency principles.
